Help me with medical collections

I have decided to pay some medical bills that are in collections before attempting to open any more CC's. I want to go about this the best way and get this things off my credit report. It's two separate bills for about $50 each. I have the ability to PIF. They are approximately 2 years old.

My question is.. What is the best way to do this. Should I call the Original creditor or the collection agency that is on my CR? I think a PIF will really have some leverage to get these accounts off. I feel like at least asking if it can be PFD before I start the "hippa process".

Any advice is appreciated. Should I give them a chance to work with me since I'll be PIF? Please advise!

Re: Help me with medical collections

I would pay the hospital, always! Or the OC for anything medical. I recently paid the hospital with no communication to the CA then opted out and sent my pre hipaa letters. TU deleted, still waiting on EX, EQ wasn't reporting.
