Help needed with a collection question

hi,

I have a delinquent account from OpenedDec 26, 2013 (3 yrs, 9 mos)

It is  by a colection agency cach LLC. 

I want to improve my score since I will soon be buyying a house in the next 6/8 months. 

I missed the payment at that time. It was around $190. However the collection agency is claiming the payment to be $430.

Since this is am old account. What is my best option:

I currently have a credit score of 725 and it is mainly down because of this collection. 

• Call the collection agency and pay the original amount of $190 or some other amount that they can agree too atleast not $430. What do you think they can come down to?
• Ignore it if it goes off my credit report.

What is the SOL for your state? 3 years and 9 months isn't that old, and in some states you can still be sued to recover the debt. I would request a debt validation letter to see where they are getting the extra charges from - the charges could have added on since you missed a payment. Depending on your lender, they may want the collection paid up before they underwrite for a mortgage.
