Hello and welcome to the forums.
I like to think of the Rebuilding process as a 2 step process.
1. Removing baddies
2. Adding goodies... ( yeah, I went there!)
Have you sent GWs for the COs? How much are the collections? Can you pay them now? Maybe a PFD?
As far as secured cards, I'd post on our CC boards and see what those gurus say. They live for that sort of thing.

HelloFirst time posting. Love this forum
I have four collection items and a past due student loan. No open accounts. And three charge offs that are now paid. How can I get my score to go up?? Can you guys recommend a good secured credit card that reports to agencies. My highest score is 569 and lowest is 489. Help me,,, thanks!!
Welcome to the forum
At this time of your rebuild and based on current scores I would suggest 2 options for new positive TL's
(1) Shopping cart trick but only apply for the stores that you would use no more than that for positive TL's
search the forum for info....
if your app ask for your full SS# its not the right app ....the one your looking for only ask for the last 4 digits of SS# (SP)
(2) https://www.sdfcu.org/ easy approval secured card
If you get both it would be great if not one will have to do
Use them for 6 months while working on baddies on CR's
Use for everyday purchases and let one TL report a balance of 1-9% each month
This will help to increase scores during the time your working on CR
Good luck and best wishes and keep asking questions
I suggest you get a secured cc with openskycc.com. There is no credit inquiry, and your credit limit can be up to $3 K I believe. I've been with them for almost two years and I have been happy with them reporting faithfully to all three credit bureaus.
Thank you both for your help! I feel stuck and depress with my current credit situation. I will try your advice. THANK YOU
THanks for the opensky cc info. I am applying for this right now with a 500 credit line. I am going to use this for gas purchase and make timely payments. Hopefully that helps me! thanks again

Credit is a marathon and not a sprint It takes time
Please don't let it get you down
You will overcome and become financial fit because you made it happen from your very own hard work
Glad to help and keep us posted
