I also highly recommend the $1 Credit Check Total . com free trial as you'll get all 3 of your scores and a 3 of your reports as well. You can go through the reports and identify your areas of opportunity so you know where to focus your attention for the best results.
You don't have to spend a lot of money and I suggest spending not a penny more than the $1 CCT trial. There are people on here that use monthly monitoring services and pay $15, $30, $60 per month and IMO it's not necessary. If some want to drop that money that's fine, but for you just starting out don't feel that you have to. I've taken my scores up over 100 points in a year just by reading on here and not spending anything outside of occasional CCT trials. Credit Karma which you already have is fine for looking at your reports from 2 bureaus; you'll be able to see what issues you have by looking at those reports. The information on your reports from CK is good information, just don't look at the CK scores.
Agreed. Also sign up for Credit.com for tracking the EX credit report (FAKO score)...
