Help with dealing with bad marks from Capital One

Hey All,

I just stumbled upon this forum today and was very encouraged by all of the posts about credit card companies removing negative marks from your credit report.

When I was in college about 3 years ago, I had missed a number of payments on my Capital One card.  I had lost my part time job and fell behind 120 days.  I was wondering if anyone had any luck with calling a backdoor number for Capital One for an Account Specialist to get any negative marks that long removed from their CR and how I should approach it?

Thanks in advance ... This forum is great!

I would send a GW letter (good will ). 120 day late is a major Derogatory.

Capital One is not very forgiving when it comes to late payments and charge offs. Just do a internet search for their executive office phone number or mailing address.

Thanks for the responses.  I found a backdoor number to an Account Specialist that people have reported success with.  I also am talking with someone through the chat line who is filing a dispute internally in Capital One to fix any errors on my credit report.  Is this a good thing?  The guy I was talking with made it seem like this would remove the negative marks from my CR.

If it works let me know. I have a 30 day I would like to get removed. I just want my old installment loan to be positive. 25 payments made only 1 (30) late. Im sure they could remove it for me lol.
