File an FTC Fraud Affidavit http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/pdf-0094-identity-theft-affidavit.pdf and take it to your local police station and file a police report.  Then send these to the CRAs and have that blocked.

Send both of them to the OC and CA and ask for everything they have on the account.  Forms with your signature, payments, etc.

Just because it was charged to your account does not make it yours nor you responsible for it.

I know CA is collection agency, but what is OC and  CRA?

OC is original creditor (CareCredit)

CRA is Credit Reporting Agencies (TU, EX and EQ)

In my signature is a list of abbreviations used here.

OC: Original Creditor (CareCredit in this case)

CRA: Credit Reporting Agency (Agencies), aka CB, CRB

Re: Help with inaccurate Care Credit charge, LVNV reporting on CR

My credit report says this is supposed to drop off May 2014... Should I just leave this alone as opposed to making all the calls??

This item was updated from our processing of your dispute in Nov 2012."

No, you want it to be deleted from your reports.

It will be excluded from your reports May 2014, but if you apply for a tradeline (TL) in excess of $150,000, that lender can request a complete report from the CRA. Meaning they will still see this bad TL.

It will most likely prevent you from getting a mortgage.
