What do you guys think? Can I get up into 600's? I have sent gw letters. How much are the collections hurting my score. What do I really need to focus on. Any tips would be great! Thank you so much! My transunion is 577

If you have the resources, try to PFD the collection accounts and have them removed.  That would give your score a good boost.  For the accounts that are paid, but have baddies - GW, GW, and GW some more.  Someone will eventually cave in.  Try to get your utilization down and be on time from this day forward.

I had luck with a discover card account that they removed. I have been current on my one open account. I have 2 new ones soon to be open. Tribute and Orchard Bank. I am sent Verizon a PFD on the charge off and also CBSA. No responses yet. Going to get utl under control. Did not know how much that hurts my score. I have sent lots of GW letters out. Just got Discover to do anything yet.

Collections and charge offs hurt your score tremendously, so getting them off is important.  Trust me.  I have a lot of them that I am working on at the moment.

I paid the HSBC to a CA that wasn't reporting. Did not know that HSBC reported it right after I paid. I sent the letters and bank statement to all 3 credit agencies. Hopefully that will be removed. Hopefully verizon accepts a PFD

I see that you included dates....but did not say what they were. What you need to know & tell us is the DOFD/DOLA      usually shown on CR under the OC

                   This tells us that they sold the account  in 2006(maybe)        IF the 2002 date is the DOFD  it will drop before Feb 2009............very good score increase!  

knowing the DOFD/DOLA  will give you the SOL and CRTP

             SOL on cell phones is  federal 2 years!   but can remain 7 years from DOFD/DOLA

             The date shown  2003.........the date reported or the date paid means nothing! 

I know that you did not know about HIPPA.....HIPPA is letters that are sent for medical!!!  it carries more weight then a DV!     Never contact any CA when it is a medical debt....you might lose the ability to hit them with the HIPPA letters.

You are correct in sending GW to paid baddies.  But it would be better if you knew the DOFD/DOLA.....so that you would know the real SOL and drop date.

IMO  Never send a PFD before a DV!!!  You may wind up paying more then once!
