Re: How Do I Get My Lenders To Increase my Credit Limit?

Another thing you may do is pay for everything on those credit cards.  As soon as the charges post to the accounts, pay them off, or at least down to under 10%.  CC companies make money every time you use the card.  I run $800-900 dollars through one card every month, and pay it this way.  I make 3-4 payments every month.  Another good side affect is there's never a late payment.  May not make a difference hitting the CLI button on the site, but may look better on a manual review.

I don't know my start scores, but low 500s. 6/2013

THANK YOU. I have been doing that over the last several weeks (making multiple payments). Since Christmas, I have made about 20 payments to all 3 of my credit card accounts. I will be in the position to PIF every month by the end of this month or next. The card I'm asking for the CLI on was actually PIF with a zero balance as of 1-6-15, it wasn't at a $0 balance when I asked for the recon. I'm going to only use it to but gas from now on and PIF every month. I already set it to automatcally pay off the full balance each month.

Re: How Do I Get My Lenders To Increase my Credit Limit?

Has anyone had any luck requesting a cli from cap 1 a month in? It stinks being inpatient in the credit game!

Re: How Do I Get My Lenders To Increase my Credit Limit?

They will not do a CLI a month in.  The CLI button only allows it every 6 months.  EO told me the same thing.  I was able to get a manual review some time in the 5th month, but at 1 month, while doubtful, maybe if there had been a major change in your report or scores.

Re: How Do I Get My Lenders To Increase my Credit Limit?

I have been charging more then my cl on my cp1 qs1 card and obviously make several payments a month. I hope they look kindly on this when I'm due for an increase. Maybe even get a PC to the prime qs card. Smiley Very Happy

Re: How Do I Get My Lenders To Increase my Credit Limit?

UPDATE:

So CAP 1 replied to my 3rd CLI request (over the last month) and of course they denied me again Smiley Sad . This time their reasoning is:

  • Insufficient experience with high lines of credit on Capital One accounts and
  • Too few or no revolving accounts are rated satisfactory

Although I'm bummed, I still think I'm making some progress (because their reason for declining isn't the same, low credit score, derogs, etc).

Now do I call for a recon or just let it go for now and wait for another 2/3 months or so? Thanks
