OK, here goes.....My husband and I just discharged a bankruptcy in July/August. We want to know how to start rebuilding our credit. So far, he has two CC=$1000 and car loan of $16000. I have two CC=$3800. His score is 585, mine 643. What else do we need to start doing? Any help is greatly appreciated.

You need to get copies of your report and make sure everything is right on it, the things that are wrong once fixed will help improve your score.

Are the CCs still open?

If so, are they in good standing?

Yes. My oldest one is at least 4 years (just got CLI of $3300). The other opened in August. His opened in April and August. Car loan in June. Got my credit reports. Only thing on there is the bankruptcy and two late payments (from 2 years on oldest CC).
