If your credit history has been good otherwise and you have the income to show you can continue making payments, try sending a Goodwill Letter explaining the situation. I just had success with Synchrony Bank. Mail the letter to:

If your score improves a decent amount after that you might qualify for credit line increase which could further increase your score by decreasing your overall utilization.
