How long does a CA have to update?

I PIF'd a few old collections at the end of February, and as of 4/8 all have updated except one, which is still showing a balance and "unpaid". Is there a time limit on how long this creditor can take to report this as "paid"?

Re: How long does a CA have to update?

I had one CA recently tell me it could take up to 90 days.......but the other 3-4 said within 30 days.

I think it really just depends on the CA.

Start: (2-26): EQ 602 (Myfico) TU 579 (Credit Karma) EX 634 FAKO
Current: (7-12): EQ 690(myfico) WalmartTU 696 EX 689 (lender 6-3)

Re: How long does a CA have to update?

I was wondering this too, as experian is still showing the account with a balance and equifax and transunion have showed it as paid. I got the 90 days thing from sallie mae. I will check in may if its not updated bu then I will prob dispute it

Re: How long does a CA have to update?

Considering all but Experian has updated I would go ahead and call to verify that they did update. From my experience Experian usually updates promptly. Just call and explain that it has updated on the other two but is still lingering on Experian. Some times things get missed on one end or another, though they all hate to admit it.
