How long does high balance get reported?

Hi All,

Just curious when the High Balance or Credit Limit on closed accounts falls off your credit report?

Thank you!

Re: How long does high balance get reported?

I have a 9 year old "closed" account still reporting...

high balance: $5030.00

limit: $5000.00

I know that i maxed that card out 1 time (only) in it's early days then paid it off the following month and rarely used the card. so, that would have been about 15 years ago.

old tradelines stay on your file for 10 years. the negs will be removed from that tradeline after 7 years. (atleast thats how mine worked out)

Re: How long does high balance get reported?

this is assuming no activity but card is still open.

Its 10 years if card is Revolving Acct/closed. I have card that was open since 1990 and still on my reports becozi its active.  If installment acct paidoff/closed then 10 years as well. eg Auto/Furniture Loans
