Re: How long does negative information stay on the credit reports?

Depends on what type of negative.

COs and collections stay for 7.5 years from the DoFD.

Judgments, paid or unpaid from date filed.

Tax liens, paid, 7 years from date paid.  Indefinitely for unpaid.

Late payments, 7 years from date of occurence.

Date of last payment doesn't have anything to do with when an item is removed.

Kind of splitting hairs there.  If your DOLA was a payment, then?  Technically that would be your date of last activity, correct?

No, it isn't really splitting hairs.  Nothing comes off from the DOLA, it is the DoFD and that is the date of first delinquency.

Now DOLA would have something to do with your states suing SOL.
