How long is reasonable to wait for update to report?

[ Edited ]
Hi all. I have another question. I have a charge-off that I paid on July 16th, so we're right about 45 days after that. On TU and EX, it's reported the first of 2 payments that I made and is showing half the balance. On EQ, it's still reporting the full balance. How long is reasonable for the report to be updated to a paid charge off/0 balance? If it doesn't update soon, should I dispute with the CRA? Should I first call the OC and ask them what their story is?

I would start with the OC and getting them to update.

It is possible that they no longer report to EQ- the reason for no payments showing on there.

That could sort of suck if the balance showed on there then until it finally falls off. Hmm. I'll check into it. They did report in July, and in August, incorrectly.

You are saying that they are reporting to EQ monthly, but not reporting the updated balances?

If your account shows update for the month, then the new balance should be shown --IF they reported the balances.

I'd be getting on the OC.

Yeah, I just looked at my EQ report again (as of 9/1 - so yesterday or today depending on your time zone) and it shows last reported in August.  I will call in the morning. Believe it or not, this is my last big obnoxious thing to tackle.

Talked to the OC this morning. She claims that in their system it's noting a paid charge-off, paid in full, but that the credit reporting agencies may not have picked it up yet. Umm...I asked her what that meant, she said that I'd just have to wait (their system didn't update until the 18th of August, for what it's worth). I'm tempted to just plain dispute the balances showing with each of the 3 CRAs.

Rawr. EX and TU are updated and showing the account as a paid in full charge off. EQ still shows the balance and unpaid. I'm going to file a dispute because that's ridiculous and driving me nuts.

A dispute seems the best way to go... they will validate the debt but update the balance

Which is fine by me. I just want the balance to report correctly because even though it won't net me points (as far as I know) it will still look better under manual review.

Well, I dispute this one a month ago now. How long do they have to get me the results (I asked for them electronically)?
