I have been working with EQ regarding BOA all of sudden showing 2 lates (9-2010, 4-2012 ) on a CO account that was incl in Bkptcy in 2009. I noticed my score had dropped from 699 to 675 so I looked further to find these lates. I disputed several times and called BOA and Eq to finally get it removed yesterday. My score jumped to 698.
I keep my cc at 10%, so only change on the two reports was 2 lates. Hard to believe it lowers your score that much. Just wanted to share.
Yes, I would give anything to have my lates removed on a student loan. Ive had the student loan for 7 years now, and I have only been late two different periods, but those two different times were for 3 consecutive months, but they dont report any 30 day lates for some reason. Goes right to 60 90 120, then a year later another 60 90 120.
KILLING MY SCORE haha, but I'll keep GWing

Payment history is a significant component of your FICO score, so late payments can certainly ding your score. How bad were the 2 lates, i.e. 30 day, 60 day....etc.. ?
It did not show 30,60 ,90 days late, It just showed acct history and status code L chargeoff for 9/2010 and 4/2012. My last pmt Aug 2006. I filed Bkptcy Jan 2009.
What is weird is when I disputed in May, the report showed all the 24 lates back to 2006 changed to OK with the 2 lates only showing. Now all the history is totally gone.
I looked on the credit rport and It was showing as 2 90 day lates. So maybe that is why my score jumped up when deleted.
