I have been successful in getting collections and charge offs deleted from my report. I now have:
1 small medical bill listed with a collection agency for less than 300 -- the hospital agreed to PFD, which I will do soon
2 small short-term loans (less than 300 each) to PFD. One already agreed and I think I can get the other one to PFD as well.
2 bankruptcies that will fall off in 2014 (dismissed chapter 13) and 2015 (discharged chapter 7).
And some late payments as follows:
Fingerhut/metabank - one 30 day late in 2011; this is only listed on Equifax.
Nelnet - 90 day late (listed as twice as it is listed as 2 accounts) in 2007.
Sallie Mae - 90 day and 120 day late (listed as twice as it is listed as 2 accounts) from August and September 2006.
There is also a completely paid off car loan listed negatively on transunion. It used to have one 30-day late payment listed but I disputed and that was deleted on all 3 reports. However, on transunion, it has no late payment but the last few months show past due amounts such as showing a payment of $333 and a past due amount of $333. So I am not sure if I should leave this alone or if I should goodwill the auto loan company to remove the past due amounts for the last few months of the loan.
I am focusing on finishing up the 3 PFDs and getting those off my reports.
Should I worry about trying to get rid of the late payments which will fall off later this year and in 2014? Also, what about the car loan, is it worth messing with and possibly having them add the 30 days late payment back?
Thanks
30 days tend to not impact your score after 2 years. Anything 90+ are major degrogatories and will impact your score for nearly 7 years. I would send out GW letters asking for removal.
About the car loan. If it is paid off and they are reporting a balance and a payment due, that is incorrect reporting. I would call them and let them know how it is reporting and ask them to correct it. Was it a CO? When is it due to be excluded from your reports?
How do you post a picture?
I'll post a picture of my car loan.
I am not sure how to post a pic. I just cut and paste.
Here's my car loan. It's paid off but the last few months of paying show a past due amount. For the last few months, I had to delay payment and change my pay date a couple of times. It's listed as a positive tradeline on EQ and EX, but it's listed as negative on TU even though there are no late payments and it says PAYS AS AGREED
I am afraid if I do anything like goodwill or dispute that the 30 day late payment will show up again. TU is my highest credit score at 658 so far and it should be even better as I got a couple more things deleted recently. Soon, I will PFD a medical bill and there will only be the student loan late payments left.
