I disputed my collections on my report because they still show as unpaid one of them got completely deleted from my report yay! but the other two are still in process...my question is how much on average will a score go up when they show as paid?
as you can see from my scores listed below I just paid off 3 small collections (under $1k) and mine went up some 40 something points in a couple months. I have 7 year old collections to fall off next month ( 1 real baddie, 1 not so bad). Very anxiuosto see how that changes my score. Plus I got a $500 unsecured CC from my CU with a 10.99% interest rate...so I'm hoping that has a positvie impact also. (fingers and eyes crossed!)
would depend on other factors on your CR.
also would depend whats left outstanding...if youre left with several other COs etc, prob not so much. If its your last CO then prob alot.
There are many different factors that would have to go into play to determine this. Were they affecting your util? Are these your only baddies? Do you have any positive TLs to make your CR healthy?
All of them are completely paid off with a $0 balance so I am hoping for at least 20 points.
If they were revolving accounts and with the OC and figuring into your util. Then I could see that. 20 points is doable.
They werent affecting my utilization, the only other bad I have is some missed payments on two credit cards (one closed) from the end of '09
Unfortunately they are not with the OC they were with a collections company and they didnt show in my revolving accounts only in the collections section. I have 5 open credit cards in good standing on my report, 2 bad and one of those is closed.
I don't see a significant jump just because they were paid, but I've seen stranger things happen so we will hope for the best. In the mean time, since they are paid now, start the GW process.
