How shortly after paying off an account should you send a GW letter?

Can you send it immediately after paying off and closing a CA account, or should you wait a little while before sending?

I paid off a CA account last month that still has not updated on my credit reports, however I received the Release of Claim letter from the CA stating I no longer have an liabilites with this account.

Should I wait until they update my credit report with the paid collection or should I go ahead and send in the GW letter in hopes they might delete?

Thanks

*ouch*.... it's a shame you didn't know about the PFD's That way you'd have had a bargaining chip (your $$$) That would give them the incentive to remove neg TL for payment.  I'd send the GW NOW! Your name and $ is still fresh in their mind.  Did you deal with any particular person during the payoff?  Who is the CA?
