I received a call on Wednesday, July 11th from a collection agency. The representative told me they just received the account on July 3rd. (less than 2 weeks ago)
What is the soonest a collection agency can report this to the credit bureaus? If I pay them this week, will it not even show up on my report?
More info: (The account has not been reported yet - and I have not received a dunning notice)

They are required to send a dunning within 5 days of first contact.
As far as when they can report? Immediately or never. Usually, I have experienced they will wait until after you have chance to pay before reporting. They use the threat of reporting as a collecting tactic, and clearly it works if you know how credit scoring work haha
Rarely, if I get a new collection, like a couple months ago I forgot to pay a parking ticket. I received a dunning, paid right away, and no reporting.
