How to word GW around FCRA "accurate" reporting requirement

I've been working on some GW letters to my student loan servicer, and I've actually found someone receptive and willing to help.

But he's being told by people in the company that they can't remove lates as that would violate the FCRA.

How should i respond to this? I want to be careful in how I word it - something like:

"The FCRA only requires accuracy in the information reported - it doesn't require full and complete reporting of all account details"

Any suggestions?

And are there additional reporting requirements for federally-backed student loans?

Many Thanks!

That's what you would tell them.  The FCRA only requires that information submitted to the CRAs be accurate, they do not and cannot require any creditor to report at all.
