I am confused about the AU questions

I thought being a AU didn't count anymore as far as scores go?

Does it really help on reports?

What I did and screwed up ROYALY!

I was a AU on DH chevron, I NEVER noticed the account on my CR said SHARED!
I didn't apply for this card with DH as a CO Applicant, when he applied he asked for another card in my name, they reported it somehow ( he or I never gave them my SS#).

Well, GEMB took over Chevron's accounts and reported the TL on my report as Closed so I disputed it as not mine, I don't need a closed account listed, well, that was my fatal mistake, I disputed it and they CLOSED DH's account because of it. Now we are fighting with the legal dept to re open the account.

I have gotten answers as to why it was closed from fraud, to the FCRA sent a written letter to close the account, to DH filed BK (which he did and was discharged in 12/07 and Chevron was not listed no where in the BK (the attorney did this not DH).

It was actually MY FAULT this account was closed.

People if you are a AU on someons account DO NOT EVER dispute it as NOT YOURS, they will close that persons account due to fraud. to this day the account is STILL in the legal dept and IS NOT re-opened.

Have the person that owns the account call the creditor and request that the AU be removed.

And remember their credit becomes YOUR credit, if they defualt, you get hit.

What are you confused about?

AU accounts still count in scoring until FICO 08 goes into effect.  That has not happened yet, for the most part.

That is why I was confused I thought fico 08 had already happened.

Any idea of when that will happen?

FICO 08 has already been made available by Experian to their clients.

IMO, even if doesn't help your score, as long as it a good account with no delinquencies on it and is an older account with good history attached, I would leave it.

Some creditors will do manual reviews.
