I am now "gardening" my credit

Got my car.  Got my cards.  Got most of the derogs off my CRS.  Now I will just sit back and do things right and hopefully my scores will start to rebound from the new loan, new inquiries and increased util (had a vet emergency......sigh....but that's why I have the cards sitting around with a low balance).

With all of the above happening, it tanked my scores 50 pts. on EX (most of the auto inqs where EX).

I don't plan on purchasing anything such as cars or a home for the next three years so it doesn't matter too much right now anyhow.

Please tell me my scores will rebound Smiley Happy  I plan to take my cards from 50% util to 10% by October

Goal: 700 club by Dec 2008. Can it be done? Heck yeah!! It's done, let's keep it that way!

Gardening is cool even when the heat index is at 100!!!  Everything ages.

Re: I am now "gardening" my credit

I just hated it when I saw my scores drop from the 700s, which I worked so hard for, back to the mid-600s.  I know it's because of the new accounts/inquiries and my avg. age dropped a bit, but still.

I have been doing the same since December.  Another 6 months to get past the one year mark on all new credit, and I should be in good shape!
The slide from grace is really more like gliding
And I've found the trick is not to stop the sliding
But to find a graceful way of staying slid

How much is the improvement in FICO score when one credit enquiry and tradeline ages one year ? Is it different for enquiry compared to new tradeline ?
