I have decided to try to do this a bit more organized than I was before. I made the mistake of disputing everything on TU, they deleted good and bad TLs.
Here is where I stand now, I am trying to decide if I should ask to have the late payments removed or have the entire TL removed. If the TL is removed, will it screw my AAoA? My 2 oldest accounts are 14 years old (student loans).....Even if the TL deletions lower my AAoA is it better to have the baddies removed regardless of impact on my AAoA? Please take a look at the accounts listed as negative indicators on myFico EX report 10/24:
Open Accounts
Victoria's Secret- opened 5/2006- 1-30 late (2011) 2-90 late (2009)
Closed Accounts
Cap1- opened 7/2003 (1X 150, 3x90, 4x 30 late) 2008-2009----Sold to Portfolio Recovery (Charge Off I think)
Cap1- opened 7/2004 (2X30 late) 2009
Target- opened 11/2005 (3x90 late) 2008
Portfolio Recovery (OC Cap1)- opened 9/2009 CA no lates
Portfolio Recovery (OC-HSBC)- opened 3/2009 CA lo lates
Suntrust Bank (Paid Auto Loan)- opened 7/2003 (3X120 late and very close to repo) 2008-2009
As always, any advice is truly appreciated. I am looking for a solution that will improve my credit score (FicoEX-620) and prepare my credit file for mortgage applications.
They deleted good active TLs? If so , i'm sure if this is the case they will report it again the next month.
No, they deleted two dormant accounts that didn't have bad history, but when I called the card company, they told me my account was closed after not using it for 18 months.....but it sat on my report anyway. No impact on my score either way???
From what i've been reading you never want to lose good history.. but can if affect your score? I cant say.
I believe the deletion of good history is factored into your FICO score. To the other question about deleting lengthy accounts with bad history, I had similiar situation with Ford Motor Credit (12 year old account) with last payment being late. Because the last and only payment was late, CRA's deleted the whole TL stating that the account closed as a negative account. That affected my AAoA and undoubtedly somewhere my payment history too, although that may have been very minute. For me, it was worth the removal, as I couldn't get the account to report positively.
So, from now on, the goodwill removal requests will be as follows:
Open Accounts
Victoria's Secret- opened 5/2006- GW removal of 1-30 late (2011) 2-90 late (2009)
Closed Accounts
Cap1- opened 7/2003 (1X 150, 3x90, 4x 30 late) 2008-2009----Sold to Portfolio Recovery (Charge Off I think)- GW Removal of TL
Cap1- opened 7/2004 (2X30 late) 2009-GW R emoval of lates
Target- opened 11/2005 (3x90 late) 2008-GW R emoval of lates----I just opened a new Target 10/2013
Portfolio Recovery (OC Cap1)- opened 9/2009 CA no lates- GW Removal of TL
Portfolio Recovery (OC-HSBC)- opened 3/2009 CA lo lates- GW Removal of TL
Suntrust Bank (Paid Auto Loan)- opened 7/2003 (3X120 late and very close to repo) 2008-2009- Goodwill Removal of TL
Sounds like a good plan
