I've had this happen a couple of times. Here are 2 possible scenarios:
1) The collection was so old, it had no impact. It was probably offset by the decrease in AAoA.
2) You have so many collections that one removal has no impact.
There may be other reasons, but these are two I've noticed as I've repaired my credit. The good news is that you have one less to go.

1) I had a 6 yr 10 mo old collection removed & I got a 29 pt increase. Collections do count, no matter the age. This was my only collection...if I'd have had a few more, I doubt the increase would have been that significant. From all I've read, collection accts don't factor into age, while the OC acct this came from does.
2) I'd bet on this....DO you have more collection accts?

I have 1 other collection acct and it is PAID. My score is a 524 so i thought it would go up especially since it is so low
That's the reason that you didn't get a score jump. Who is the CA & when had you paid it??
Which report is that score from? Where did you get it?
Is this other collection on all 3 reports??
The Date Opened is MAR 2009
and Date of Last Activity was AUG 2008.
It was Paid JULY 2009
It fell off of all 3 reports and the score isthe myfico equifax score.
The other collection account which is still on my report ( Asset Acceptance) is
the Date Opened MAR 2009
and Date of Last Activity is SEP 2008
When did it come off your equifax report? I've noticed a delay in a score update from them, relative to the one from TU.
Also, I had no trouble doing a PFD with Asset.
