If a person has a joint checking acct with another, and one person signs the check and it bounces, are both partys resposible or the one who signed it? This is currently a collection acct.
I, personally, would assume the answer is both. The same as co-signing on a loan for a vehicle even if it isn't yours.
Both are equally liable, unless it can be shown that the 'other person' perpetrated fraud in some way in connection with said check.
In general they will persue whichever party seems more financially 'fit'.
