You'd think that such a letter would be better written and more explicit ("you've used one of our websites"-- well, which one?).
You would also think they would be more straight forward instead of asking questions about what you plan to do.
Eep! You'll have to pay "lots of more." I get the feeling this was written by a "Nigerian" prince in exile! You could have some fun with this if you were truly evil!
Thanks for confirming my suspicions yall. I know its a scam but its still really nerve wracking to get any correspondence like that. BTW FTC complaint filed, but my Sheriff told me its a waste of time to file a report with his office and that there isn't anything he can do. Ah well, as long as they don't start calling me I don't really care.
Any idea at all how these fraudsters got your SSN? That must be the huge worry right now! I'd be freaking out over that.

No idea, I'm generally a tin foil hat kind of guy and guard my ssn pretty well. That's the big thing that has me worried, but so far nothing is amiss in my report. Maybe I should file a stolen ID prematurely?
you can put a fraud alert on your credit reports or just freeze them temporally.
This seems to be a problem with using PayDay loan companies. Even if you do everything right, pay them off, on time, etc.... they sell your info or it's stolen by employees and sold to these scumbag scam artists. File with the the FTC, your State AG, the CFPB. And keep a close eye on your CRs.
