what do i do if a collection agency is refusing to remove a dispute remark because i disputed the same thing more than once and EX says their new policy is that the agency who put the remark on the account is the only one who can remove it? EX says to file a complaint with the bbb and attorney general office. TU and EQ both removed no problem with a phone call.
If it is acknowledged that a prior dispute was filed, what is the basis for disputeing the showing of that dispute?
Is your issue that the dispute was resolved, yet the CRA does not show it as such, or that you did not dispute?
A renewed dispute can be dismissed as frivolous or irrelevant without any investigation if it is substantially the same as a prior dispute, whether filed with a CRA or directly with the furnisher.
If you disagree, you can file an informal complaint with the BBB or make formal complaint with the CFPB or initiale you own civil action.
its resolved. The account is paid in full. I just need to remove the dispute remark.
If they are showing the dispute as resolved, there is nothing to remove.
The fact that a dispute was filed cannot be deleted. The CRA properly retains the info on the dispute, and does not delete it from your file once resolved.
