I need your help!! PFD questions!!

Thank goodness for tax season!! Got enough money to pay off some collections i have.  Questions.

1.  Anyone have an example letter? 

2. How do i proceed on doing this?

3. Is it better to mail them the letter, call them, or email?

4. Should I pay the whole amount or negotiate?

5. How should I pay them? 

This year I really want to improve my credit. Any help would be great! Thank you myfico!
