Ok...you're making progress Smiley Happy  NOW...here's what I told them (because I too had a CO with FP that was UNPAID at the time I opened):

"I understand that there is a balance shown with FP, but the reason why this balance has not been cleared is due to the fact that I am disputing the charges that FP claims I owe.  I am not saying I don't owe them any money...I just  believe they have their calculations wrong and am asking for them to update prior to me paying in full"

When I spoke to the CSR during my recon, I remember saying something along the lines of "I'm not sure if you know who FP is, but they are a horrible company to communication with"...she even agreed with me.  She said she's heard a lot of horror stories about them.  She then approved me and said "I know you don't want to pay them based on principle, but I would suggest paying them just to get the balance to $0"

That was it...it was so pleasant Smiley Happy

Re: I really admire Orchard Bank

I have a complicated file, so, I'll probably wait a year before trying again. Right now my income is only about $10,000 a year because I'm in school full time and I've opened 3 accounts in the last week and have a bankruptcy in 2009.. lol

So, yeah, yucky from every angle. I would love to talk to Barclay's when I can tell them, "Hey, look how I've managed my credit the last year. Excellent utilization and ontime payments." I'm sure I'll still get autorejected when I apply a year from now, but, at least by then I'll have a leg to stand on when I call and claim I'm good for it.. lol

Current Cards: Cap 1 Journey $3000, Cap 1 Playstation $2250, WFNNB Store Cards $2450 combined, Target $700, CareCredit $1700, Barclay Rewards Plat. Mastercard $1800, Old Navy $300, DCU Platinum Rewards Visa $2000, Swagbucks Rewards Visa $1000

Re: I really admire Orchard Bank

waiting to reapply is a great idea...BUT i would also recommend the recon just to find out specifically what Barclays is looking for.  This will help you with getting approved later Smiley Happy

(just my two cents)
