Re: IC Systems

DVs are for unpaid CAs only.  You wouldn't DV an OC or a paid account.

Re: IC Systems

I also have IC Systems on my report. They wouldn't budge on PFD and I paid it anyway. I filed a BBB dispute with them to delete the trade lines and they did. They seem pretty responsive on the BBB website, so it's worth a shot.

Re: IC Systems

What do you mean "I filed a BBB dispute with them to delete the trade lines and they did".  What are trade lines and does that mean they deleted the collection record?

Thanks

I too am curious about that.    A TL is an account on your CR.

Paid or not a CA doesn't have to delete the TL unless the agreed to do so.

Re: IC Systems

Well, I may have fudged a little on my BBB dispute with them...saying they agreed to deleting it and then didn't. But then they deleted it from my report to resolve the dispute. They have a bunch on there that are similar and my thought is they don't want their BBB score to drop so they do whatever they have to to resolve a customers issue on there

Re: IC Systems

So I'm trying to form a strategy for doing a PFD.  I've asked on the phone twice now and they give me the standard---it's our policy to not do PFD's.  But reading here, it's their practice to refuse, refuse, refuse until it get's to be a business burden and then they cave to the PFD.   Do you think pointing out that there are dozens and dozens of people who successfully received a PFD help my case or just make them angry?   The front line people are well versed in the line "Oh we don't do that, it's against our policy."  when I pressed she insisted they are heavily regulated and it's against the law for them to delete a collection notation from credit reports.  Advise?

Re: IC Systems

I had the same situation and my guess is the guy in the call center is different than the guy who mans the BBB complaints. I had zero luck with them on doing PFD, but they didn't even try to weasel arround with the BBB dispute, but I did have the account paid before filing that dispute.

Re: IC Systems

you were right--they didn't hesitate to do a PFD once I went through the BBB.  Got the letter yesterday.  Very pleased.

Re: IC Systems

Some enterprising lawyer needs to start some class actions.  It seems to me that is a creditor says "we don't do PFDs" and does even one it's a false and misleading action in violation of the FDCPA...

How is this different from threatening to sue when there's no intention to sue?
