IRS lein help

My wife and I are close to getting a loan at a CU for a home.

we need our middle score to be 620 (either one of us).

MY TU is 615, EQ 555 EX ??? 

I recieved a notice in June of a tax lein being filed against me for $14K.

I'll pay this by october, however, I went to the IRS office and they say they don't report...just the CRA's find public records and then report those.

2 questions: 1. does anyone know how long it takes for a public record to report? and 2. how many points do you think i'll lose for it?

any advice also?

while i have no personal experience, i would guess losing approx 50 points and it taking up to 90 days to hit the credit report. (if it doesnt after 90 days, it probably wont show)
