IRS tax lien, waiting to see what the score bump is...

Sent EQ the withdrawal letter from the IRS.  Even after it was removed from the PR (I checked), EQ STILL "verified."  Smiley Mad  Sent them an MOV along with their "verification" and my documentation (again).  I looked at my report today and it was showing the lien was "released" 11/11 and "verified" 1/12.  I don't usually call, but I was not a happy camper.  After 20 minutes, got through to a "specialist" who reviewed my docs and stated that she was removing it and it would update immediately.  So, now I wait for any indication that my score might  move a few points in the right direction.  It's the only change, so should be interesting.  Also thinking the MOV response should be interesting...

How did you get the withddrawl letter from the IRS (let alone get them to remove it from the PR)?  I'll finish paying them off in Oct/Nov and will be looking to do the same thing.

Also, anxious to hear what kind of bump you get and how it was done!

First, I paid it off, although the rule states that certain installment plans will also qualify.  Next, I filled out this form: http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f12277.pdf and mailed it to the appropriate office.  You can look on the IRS website for the addresses.  I had asked them to send the withdrawal letter to each CRA along with the CRA addresses, but I guess they didn't do that part, so it's on me now. I got the letter from the IRS and  I looked at the county clerk of courts website where it had been filed to see that it had been removed. In the meantime, I disputed it with EQ, just to see what would happen and they came back with it "verified", although it was no longer on the PR.  That's when I sent the MOV letter along with the IRS letter which led to today's drama.

Re: IRS tax lien, waiting to see what the score bump is...

Thanks.  I just filled one out and sent it in for grins, even though my Lien is still active to the tune of $23K.  We'll see what happens.

Good luck to you popping yours off the CRAs.

Pulled USAA Credit Ck and it is gone from EQ.  Buuuuut...no movement at all on the FAKO there and no updates from here yet. KILLING me not to pull the trigger on a full report w/ score!  I shall wait patiently for a week. One week. Patiently....

Exactly what I saw. No change at all on most FAKOs or Vantagescore. However my EQ FICO and TU FICO jumped up a lot with the EQ FICO increasing well over 50 points. It was the only negative on the CR and my understanding is that the increase is much less if there are other negatives like CAs.

I have reestablished credit over the last couple years
so my moniker is, well, rather out of date.
