Inacurate reporting

Good afternoon Can someone tell me who to call when an account is reporting accurate information on one credit reporting agency but not the others? would this mean that, lets say equifax has somehow made an error, or is it the collection agency who may have reported incorrectly to equifax? Thanks!

Re: Inacurate reporting

It's an "either/ or sort of thing.  I couldn't tell you which is reporting incorrectly.  Usually, the CRAs only report the information that is given them, but they are known to err also.  I would contact the creditor and see how they say they are reporting, if it is different than what the CRA has, then I would contact the CRA.

Re: Inacurate reporting

Is the issue that their reporting is not the same with each CRA, or that they have actuaaly reported inaccurae information?

Re: Inacurate reporting

Good morning RobertEG, the issue is that their reporting is not the same with each CRA. Equifax is reporting that the paid account had been 120 days late in 8/2013 and Exsperian is reporting it correctly being 120 days late in 8/2011. So, according to my Equifax "understanding your score" it's scoring me as if I just had a recent missed payment 8 months ago, instead of almost three years ago. Thanks for the response!
