Inquiries not mine... can I dispute them?

I got an e mail from my scorewatch that i had 2 new inquiries from 2 diffrent banks...I haven't applied for any credit recently.  Can I dispute them? I don't want to get dinged!  I don't want a fraud alert or anything on my credit file, so should I dispute if I can or better off leaving them alone? TIA

Re: Inquiries not mine... can I dispute them?

Have you applied for a mortgage or car loan recently? You can obtain the name and address from the CRA of the company that pulled your credit. If you honestly do not know who/why pulled your credit and did not give them permission to pull your CR, then I would suggest sending them a "non pp" letter, which you can find an example letter on this site. There is a $1,000.00 fine for anyone pulling your CR without your permission. Hope this helps! Good luck!
