Hi All..
I recently got my Experian FICO score through the car dealership. I am now at 643.
Do you think that I can reach the 700's by the end of the year?
Any advise?
Thanks!!
Thanks for the reply Marty..
I was planning to be a joint for my hubby's Macy's account. He has $2,000 limit and $20 balance as of now, so that has a pretty low utilization. Opened since year 2000.
I was an AU for his Macy's account since 2008 but is not reporting in my CR. We called Macys and was advise they do not report AU accounts any longer so I have to apply for a joint..
A 9 year old account might incrase your AAoA and depending on your CC util, could also decrease your %util both of which would increase your score.
Going from say 70% util to 9% could give you 60 points. I would first focus on reducing CC util to 9% on a single card and if you have any derogs, focus on them either with GW or disputing if they are not valid.
Thanks again Marty.
I have 1 account that just surfaced my CR last week (AFNI) for a TMobile account past SOL that I am fighting. I've sent them DV but has not responded and is also reporting wrong. Reporting as +120 days late. CA cannot report lates...
Other than that,
I have a citi card (AU) that has $5,800 limit and $4 dollar balance. Card was opened year 2000 as well, that raised my Ex Fico 43 points in 1 month.. =)

Does your husband have any other cards that you might become an AU on? This can help you IF the account is older than any of yours, IF the payment history is long and clean, IF the utilization is very low, and IF it will report to the CRA's. Not all cards will do this as you have found out. You need to ask the company first. You will inherit the entire history of this account. One caveat however; if this account starts to go south your credit will be affected as well. Keep that in mind.
