Is this a Removal Letter?

How is everyone doing. I received this letter from "Resurgent Capital Services" after I sent them a PFD Letter. Now to let you all know that I JUST sent the a PFD letter and never sent them ANY FUNDS. What's confusing is the wording of the letter I received today, what are you getting from reading this letter?

Dear (My Name)

Thank you for your payment on the above referenced account. This letter will verify that the above referenced account was settled in full on 02-14-2013.

In the event that your payment is returned as insufficient funds, this settlement and letter will become void.

If we can be of further assistance, please contact one of our Customer Service Representatives toll-free at 1-888-665-0374.

No, it is not a removal letter.  They are saying you paid a settlement amount on 2/14/13.  Nothing in the letter about reporting and/or deleting.

You didn't send funds?   Hmmm.

When did you send the letter?

I sent the letter this month June 3 2013.

Ok, now it is more weird.

What type of collections was it?  Is it possible somebody else could have paid it?

No and it's weird to me too. Maybe I should give them a call tomorrow.

Is your report showing paid?

I would call them too.  First, you didn't pay it, second, you want it removed.

I didn't receive a score alert and I have bought a report after February and its showing that's why I sent them the letter so I don't know what's going on here.

Updated news! I called the company just now and the woman told me its SETTLED IN FULL!!! YES!!! Thanks for all the information and PFD template!!!

The balance on it was $1618 and I didn't pay a cent!!

Well that is weird.

I would wait a bit and start sending GW letters to have it deleted.
