I filed for bankruptcy in 2002. On my Equifax, it is showing up twice under public records. Is this hurting my score more than it should because there are two listings? I know having it at all is terrible for my score, but I just wondered should i try to get one removed?
What sepcifically is reporting? The posting, under the Bankruptcvy Act, of the date of entry of the order for relief or the date of adjudication of the bankruptcy, is the date, under FCRA 605(a)(1), that controls its removal from your CR after 10 years. That should only be one entry.
Is the other enty based on creditor reporting of an account you had with them?
The entries are under public records. They are identical. The only information listed is the case #, date filed, and status - which is discharged ch-7. No other information is provided.
