Is this hurting or helping me? Closed account

I need advice, please. Is this TL hurting or helping my utilization? (Please excuse the titles are not in correct columns.) Also, note the comments at bottom that state closed by credit grantor. I was thinking of getting a scooter and ended up getting it elsewhere and was not aware there was an account opened there, until it was already closed a year later and I saw it on my CR.

It looks positive to me.  No lates, no balance, not in collections, not a charge off....

Re: Is this hurting or helping me? Closed account

I was wondering if closed by credit grantor might be hurting me. What do you think?

Also, does it only help for age of accounts, but nothing towards utilization because it is closed, right? I would think it is helping very little on AAofA. Is there an advantage to leaving it with the negative comment that they closed it?

Re: Is this hurting or helping me? Closed account

Sure, it's reducing your AAoA - and upon manual review, the closed by grantor is not fantastic.  Yeah, the AAoA is the most significant way in which it's affecting you.  I wasn't looking at the dates.

Re: Is this hurting or helping me? Closed account

So, are you saying it is beneficial under these circumstances to ask for a deletion?

Re: Is this hurting or helping me? Closed account

I would certainly not touch it.  It is helping your AAoA and your utilization.

No do not have it deleted, this is a closed positive account. Its helping you, having it removed is what would hurt you.

Rebuilding and Reducing Debt, is my game plan.

Re: Is this hurting or helping me? Closed account

We have old accounts on our reports that say closed by credit grantors. They certainly can't be hurting us much. All you have to do is read these boards to see that there are going to be many, many more accounts that say that on many people's reports. I wouldn't worry about it.

Also, don't go around getting new accounts off your reports. They're the ones that eventually turn into old accounts (golden!).
