Hi
is this reporting on all three CRA's or just Equifax. Equifax reports this way all the time. I have several accounts that say 120+ days, that are paid collections, when I approached the CA about it, they told me that the CRA instructed them to report this way. I wish you luck. ![]()

You will almost assuredly find that the delinquency status of 120 late was reported by the OC, not the debt collector.
You are correct in that you dont have monthly delinquencies with a debt collector, as you have no account agreement with them.
How is the status worded in your credit report? Chances are its just a poorly formatted credit report that is mixing apples and oranges.

Robert
Equifax does this all the time, I don't see it happening so much on TU and EX. Is there anything that can be done?

Sure.
Send them a letter under FCRA 609(a)(1) requesting the name and address of the party who reported the 120-late, as well as the reporting code used.
A consumer is entitled to any information in their credit file under section 609(a)(1) and (2). However, such requests must be accompanied by the required fee, which is currently $11.00.
Make the CRA provide you with evidence that a debt collector actually reported a monthly delinquency to them.......
