I'm with DCU and BOA right now. Will be joining NFCU next week. In the future I'll want to get other cards/loans. Is it prudent to open up small checking/savings accounts now with institutions like Wells Fargo, Citibank, US Bank, PenFed, or any others you'd recommend right now if I plan on applying for cards or loans in a few months or even next year? I have relatively new credit with no lates or collections but three old, paid and released tax liens. Thanks in advance for the advice.

I did this with Chase earlier this year (the $300 checking bonus didn't hurt, either)
