Re: Judgement on CR

Yes it's a major derog.

Though I've been able to get $5k credit cards with paid judgements from 2013 so it's not like it's the end of the world or anything.

Re: Judgement on CR

Forgot to say you'd have to look up your local laws on removing judgements as well as any caselaw for that.

I think most applicable reasons for removal are time-barred at a max of 2 years after judge's decision, but I'd still look into it.

Also, it looks like TU isnt reporting the judgement correctly. It should show satisfied in the status field. Sending a copy of your satisfaction paperwork after disputing should get them to fix it, tjough I dont know if it would have any effect on your score after updating it.

Re: Judgement on CR

Was this judgment included in a BK and not actually paid ?

Oh ok, then you should be able to file a motion in the court to vacate it based on the BK in the court that granted it. There should be no problem granting the dismissal as the US BK Court trumps lower courts.

Re: Judgement on CR

How do I do that? Is it even worth it? Will I see a point jump at this point?

The clerk of the court should be able to help with the forms if not then you probably can find the forms you would need online. With a BK on file the removal of the judgment will be muted Fico wise as the BK is overshadowing everything. Its something you can do later if you want.

Re: Judgement on CR

Both are discharged judgments, so they will remain in your credit report for up to 7 years from the date the court entered its judgment.

The judgment was apparently entered some time between 12/2011 and 2/2012, so can remain up until approx the beginning of 2019.

Removal at an earleir date would require getting the court to vacate the judgment.

Whether your state permits vacature of a judgment based on its discharge would require review of your state statutes/rules of civil procedure.
