I had a judgment vacated Jan 17th in Illinois. Contacted the CRA's and have been waiting to hear back. Equifax put a dispute on my reports within 5 days. Ex & Tu haven't acknowledge my letter yet.
-TU got back to me- my dispute has been closed and the judgment erased! My fako (usaa) score went DOWN a point. Nothing else changed.
Judgment was for $1900, 5 years old paid.
I'm not worried, I know it's fako. Just wanted to give anyone else a heads up.
(I got the judgment removed by calling the lawyer who sued me. Asked for a letter stating it has been paid in full. They filed with the Illinois courts for me (I didn't know/expect them to do that) and about 2 weeks after my first phone call I received a signed "paid/vacated" notice from the courts. I contacted the CRA's that day!)
One more baddie down, about 9 to go- including a REPO!
It's removal may have affected your AAoA or you could have been rebucketed, but I don't know if FAKOs do that.
Scores | 2013-09-21 | Current |
Equifax | 630 (LP) | 755 (CK)/749 (Quizzle) |
Experian | 640 (FCR) | FICO 707 (Amex) |
TransUnion | 588 (CK) | FICO 754 (Barclaycard) |
That's kinda what I figured (aaoa) - I don't have a lot of old accounts and this one was one of the older ones. I'm excited to see what the removal will do to the other 2.
I think it's most important that it's just not there. Even though your score matters, I think what matters most is not having judgements or unpaid bills on your report. I have found that to be especially true for employment.
I totally agree. I would have paid money to have this taken off!
I expect a signifigant jump once my repo is off, I expect to be rebucketed.... can't get rebucketed with a repo & judgement! Clean reports is my goal. Score be damned in the meantime. Patience.
Congrats to your success
