We want to apply for preapproval for a USDA RD loan, but I want to get this redeemed repo off our reports first.
I signed into my Chase Auto Finance account, and followed "contact us" links... (Contact Us, Send us a message, Auto Finance - Account Maintenance Link)
I will post any updates, and if I don't hear from them I will hand-write a letter and mail it next time.

re: xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Dear Chase,
I am writing to you for help with our auto loan that was opened in October 2006, and paid off in January 2012.
The vehicle was a redeemed repo in May 2009, and there were several late payments on the account. Our finances were a mess. From 2008 to mid-2012, I was not receiving any child support. From 2008 to 2010, my husband was laid off and only worked part time. Fortunately, he now has steady, full time employment, and since September 2012 my ex has resumed paying child support again.
Our goal is to prevent history from repeating itself. We currently rent for $975/month; most local rentals are $1,000 to 1,200. However, we have found a modest house that would have a total monthly payment of $625 (including the taxes). With a difference of $350, we would much rather obtain a mortgage and finish building our emergency fund. We would like to obtain pre-approval for a USDA RD loan with Chase, but we are afraid the redeemed repo status and the late payments on this account would prevent us from being qualified for a loan. Is there any way that Chase would be willing to remove the redeemed repo status and late payments? This is a joint account, and is on both of our credit reports. Any help is greatly appreciated as we would like the opportunity to continue our relationship with your company.
Thank you for your consideration,
xxxx
