Was helping them a mistake O6?
Perhaps not a mistake. No point in being antagonistic.
I, however, would have told himsomething like "I'm sorry, but my attorney has asked me not to speak to anybody until the actual court appearance."
If the collection account is in your wife's name, then when you filed in small claims court you named her as the plaintiff, right?
Yes,ofcourse. I let her fill out the paperwork and do the signing. I actually told him I was advised not to speak to them. Everything is legit on our end. I had her put $2586 as the amount requested in damages.I will stop by the bank and get a statement notorized from the bank teller who blocked 9,000 to 10,000 in an attempt to block them from withdrawing anymore money.
We have receipt for check number 11,000 they used to withdraw after being told never again.Plus any and every receipt we've ever received,my wife is an organized receipt monger.

Whew! Great, because I had this really bad flash that there was a mess up.
Everything should be OK. I wonder if they've been served yet.
LVNV has been served, thats who called asking for help in locating the account on their end. It was a spelling issues with her name.

Wouldn't they have been able to get her name off the summons & complaint?
They had a key letter in her name wrong. It happens with everyone.Once I corrected him,he was able to pull up the account easily. Its an "a" and he thought it was an "o"
I will subscribe to this one. Sounds like it might get interesting. I don't personally see this one making it to the court room though.

I be here!
If they don't call, just see them in court. If things get sticky at the hearing, request a continuance. Based on what you've written, I don't think they both will show up. Possibly the original CA will and try to weasle out of responsibility for the second one's screw up.
I missed a few calls from the attorney and received a letter in the mail -mentioning coming to a mutual agreement.
So I gave them a call and explained the situation, I mentioned facts only. Within an hour we came to an agreement and within 2 hours we had it in writing.
I noticed a privacy clause in the agreement so I can't give any details.
Robert and O6 , the steak dinner I owe you is a done deal. Where will you be eating?
