Late Payment question: Mortgage vs. Credit card

Does a late payment (30,60,90,120+) have the same effect on your credit score if it's a mortgage vs. credit card?

In other words, does the type of loan matter?

OR

If your late, your late?

Re: Late Payment question: Mortgage vs. Credit card

Being late is bad, especially past 30, however, I think that mortgage might have more of an impact than a credit card.  I have looked to refinance my mortgage and I still have banks looking at late mortgage payment that happened a year and a half ago!
