I had a personal loan with springleaf(then American general) back in 2006 when I was stupid. The account became delinquent then was ultimately closed by them and then I paid it off in 2009. I have tried to GW them and they refuse to remove the Late payments. The first late reported was 60days on Nov 2007 and the last reported was 120 on Feb 2009. I have a couple of question, one is will the late payments drop off 1 by 1 as they reach the 7 1/2 year mark or will they all fall off after the first late reaches the 7 1/2 year mark? Second I still see it noted that I have major late payments affecting my score, I understand that 120+ day lates are major derogs, but the last one was over 3 years ago, no other late payments on my report. Are these lates still greatly affecting my scores? Thanks for the help.
The period for exclusion of monthly delinquencies is 7 years from the date of their indiviual occurence.
The additional 1/2 year (180 days) applies only to reported charge-offs and collections.
So come Nov 2014 my first delinquency will fall off then every month after that another will until they are all gone?
