Hi,
The ugliest mark on my credit report is from a broken lease/eviction back in 2008. CA now has the account. Before I initiate any kind of action with CA with a DV or PFD, I am trying to determine under which category this debt will fall in and whether or not the statute of limiations has expired. Anyone have experience? Basically, I want to avoid opening a can of worms that will get me sued.
Thank you!

This would most likely be classified as a "written contract". Check the SOL for this for your state of residence.
Who is the CA?
TeleRecovery. The information on my credit report says "placed for collection".
