Just so I know I understand this correctl......
I miss a payment or have something go to collections and it shows up on my credit report within a week.
I paid my debt off and collection agency agrees to delete and notifies credit bureaus and I'm told it will take 60-90 days to be deleted????
Shouldn't their be laws that says they have to delete/update positive stuff in the same timely manner they put the negative stuff on?
Almost sounds fair.
In a perfect world..... Yes!
we as the consumer get the shaft lol
I have been told the same information as you. I believe this practice is unfair.....if we screw up we hear about it for 7 years....if "they" screw up, we hear about it for 30-60 days. Question is, when and how do "they" hear about it?
Yes Virginia, there really isn't a Santa Clause!
Welcome to the world of Finance!
When I got my CA deleted, I was told it was reported on a specific date, but the CRA have "up to" 30 days to report it. A little investigating indicated that it usually updates quicker then that, but by law, they have to say that in the letters because of the way the CA reports it to the CRA. For me, it took less then a week for it to update (about 3 days, actually).
Does it really take up to 90 days some times? I have two CA who agreed to delete with a pfd. Experian and TU were gone within a week with one of them. Nothing changed on eq. With the other CA, nothing has changed at all. No delete, no balance change nothing, and its been over a month. Should I keep waiting, call them back, dispute?
