I will make an inquiry though...should be less costly as you say. But, still not sure how helpful it will be. If one counts the 3 business cards of which I am an Authorized User, then I have 7 active TLs.
In my opinion, I would not think it would matter...as long as they know you can make on-time payments every month. It may vary from lender to lender, but it definitely doesn't hurt to ask. Do you have any negatives on your CR? How new/old are your TL's?
My only negatives on my CR are multiple late payments from 5 years ago on 2 student loans and a 5 year-old Charge-off. Nothing else. Newest TL is about 18 months old...oldest about 10 years old...average maybe 4 years.
Looks like you're in good shape, your baddies are old and getting older.
But my score is still bogged down below 700... Maybe I am missing something, but it seems like my score should be higher by now. I haven't had a CC balance that wasn't paid in full in 2 years...and nothing derogitory at all in 5 years...
Let one card post a small balance. FICO doesn't like $0 util.
I took that advice from this Forum and have been doing so for the past 9 months or so. I did see a bump after doing so but have now plateaued at 697 (FICO)
