M&M Credit Management??

I just got an update from Credit Karma saying I had a new collection account which is M&M Credit Management for $1006. I have no clue what that its for. I havent recieved any notices or calls from them before. What should I do?

Send them a DV letter.

How do I do a DV letter without knowing the account number or anything? All I can see on Credit Karma is the name of the collections company (M&M) and the amount

You should receive a dunning notice within 5 days of them posting to your CR.  If not, then I would pull a report from the CR directly to get the information.

Have you pulled your free reports from annualcreditreport.com?

If you haven't, get them.  If you can't just say I see you are collecting an alleged debt in the amount of_________.  Per FDCPA 809 please validate.  Also include the name and address of the original creditor.

With your name they should be able to locate the debt.
